0x03 Sponsorship

The third time is when a conference stops being an experiment.

Security BSides Dehradun is volunteer-run, independent, and planned for 400+ students and practitioners across two days in April. We would rather talk to you than hand you a price list.

Prospectus in preparation

Tier names and what sits inside each one are still being settled for 0x03. Below is the shape of it; the numbers arrive with the prospectus.

Edition
0x03, the third edition

3–4 April 2027 UPES Bidholi Campus, Dehradun Two days, Saturday and Sunday

Sponsors announced from January 2027

01 Who is in the room

Two editions in, and the room keeps getting bigger.

The growth is the only number we have that means anything. The figure for 0x03 is what we are planning for; the two behind it are what happened.

180+

0x01

Attendees, 2024. The first edition.

250+

0x02

Attendees, 2026. The second edition.

400+

0x03

Planned capacity, 3–4 April 2027. Not a figure we have hit yet.

  • Students

From the engineering colleges in and around Dehradun. Many at their first security conference, most about to start hiring conversations.

  • Practitioners

People who run detection, respond to incidents, ship application security and get called at two in the morning.

Some are funded by an employer, some are paying out of their own pocket, and the ticket tiers exist because both are true. All of them gave up a Saturday and a Sunday.

Format
Two days, one venue Day one is the capture the flag final and the workshops. Day two is the talks and the hands-on villages floor.
Audience
Students and practitioners Deliberately both. The mix is the point, not a compromise.
Region
Dehradun and Uttarakhand Plus the wider north Indian security community, which travels for this kind of weekend.
Ticket price
From ₹899 The student rate, and what sponsorship most directly protects.
Run by
Volunteers Nobody on the organising team is paid. Not a boast, a budget fact.
A ring of people standing shoulder to shoulder around a white table in a bright hall, all of them looking down at it, the table covered with opened-up handsets, a laptop and small hand tools, with a printed roll-up at the left edge of the frame.
A table of opened-up handsets, and the crowd it collected.
A red pop-up stand with a sponsor's name printed across its canopy, three people leaning on the counter in front of it talking to somebody standing behind, and a tall printed banner beside the stand offering a free course to attendees.
A stand with people actually standing at it.

02 What it funds

Four things, in the order we would fight hardest to keep.

Not a budget breakdown, that belongs in the prospectus alongside the numbers. Everything on this list is something the site already promises the people coming.

  1. A ticket a student can actually afford

The student rate starts at ₹899. That number is a decision rather than a market rate, and it is the last thing on this page we would ever agree to move.

  2. Two days of venue, power and AV

A room for 400+ people at UPES Bidholi Campus, Dehradun, with everything that has to work for a talk to be audible at the back of it.

  3. The villages, and the kit on their tables

Hardware, locks, radios and bench rigs for the hands-on floor, which is the part of the weekend most people remember and the part that costs money to put out.

  4. A capture the flag tuned by our own team

The CTF runs on LevelUpCTF, our CTF partner, and it runs twice: a free online qualifier on , open to anyone, then the final on day one for the top 100 to 120. Infrastructure, and months of volunteers' time.

03 Tiers

Four levels, named after the ground we are standing on. Provisional

What follows describes the kind of thing each level involves. It is not the contract, the prospectus is. Both the names and the contents may still change before January 2027.

No prices published until they are settled

  1. Summit

    Headline partner

    • Named alongside the conference itself
    • Prominent placement on the stage backdrop
    • Acknowledged in the opening and closing remarks
    • Presence on the conference floor
    • Named on the website and in the programme

One partner. Detail in the prospectus.

  2. Ridge

    Major partner

    • Placement on the stage backdrop
    • Acknowledged from the stage
    • Presence on the conference floor
    • Named on the website and in the programme

    Detail in the prospectus.

  3. Foothill

    Supporting partner

    • Named on the website and in the programme
    • Acknowledged from the stage
    • Recognition on printed conference material

    Detail in the prospectus.

  4. Community

    Free and in kind

    • For local groups, student chapters and nonprofits
    • No fee, support given in kind
    • Named on the website and in the programme
    • Space to tell people what your group does

Ask. This tier exists to be used.

On the missing numbers: publishing a figure now and revising it later would waste the time of exactly the people we most want to hear from. They arrive with the prospectus, the same for everyone.

If none of the four fits: earmarked support is easier for us to use well than a tier. Name the thing in the email.

  • The CTF infrastructure
  • A village
  • Feeding four hundred people
  • Speaker travel

The community tier

Free, and not a lesser thing

Listed alongside everyone else, at no cost. It is a BSides norm and we intend to keep it.

04 0x03 sponsors

Nobody yet.

0x03 sponsors announced from January 2027.

The first organisation to back the third edition stays first on this page for the whole run-up.

05 Past sponsors and partners

Nine already have.

The organisations that supported the first two editions. Listed alphabetically, one ink, no tiers.

  • Altered Security

A wide hall with a speaker standing at the front beside a large projected document, a full-height printed sponsor roll-up standing at each side of the stage with every tier of names legible on both, an empty stage front in the foreground and rows of seats beyond.
Both boards, printed and standing, with everyone who paid for them on.

06 Prospectus

One email, and a real person answers it.

There is no form, no sales sequence and nobody who will call you afterwards. You get the prospectus and an honest answer to whatever you ask.

The prospectus goes out as soon as the numbers are signed off. Write now anyway, asking early puts you at the top of the list.

Three lines is a complete enquiry

  • Who you are

The organisation, and roughly what it does. No deck needed.

  • What you are hoping for

Hiring, visibility with practitioners, supporting the students, or simply that a conference exists in your city. All four are good answers and they lead to different conversations.

  • Roughly what you can commit

A range is fine. It saves both of us sending a prospectus tier that was never going to fit.

Announced
From January 2027 Sponsors are named on the site as they confirm, in order.
Deadline
None published Anything after mid-March 2027 is too late for printed material.

07 Boundaries

Two things sponsorship does not buy, stated up front.

Both of these are why the audience trusts the programme, and the audience trusting the programme is the entire thing you are sponsoring.

  • A speaking slot

The programme comes out of the call for papers and is reviewed on merit. Anyone from a sponsoring organisation is welcome to submit, with the sponsorship left out of it.

  • The attendee list

We do not sell, share or hand over attendee data. If you want to talk to the people in the room, we will put you in the room.

The reason sponsoring this is worth anything is that we do not sell the things a sponsor would most like to buy.

The organising team

Everything else is a conversation. Recruiting, demos, running something on the villages floor. Ask, and we will tell you what is possible and what is not.

08 Questions

What a sponsor asks first.

How much does it cost to sponsor 0x03?

The numbers are not settled, and that is why they are not on this page. There are four levels, Summit, Ridge, Foothill and Community, and what each one describes is above. The amount attached to each arrives with the prospectus rather than before it, and it arrives the same for everyone. Both the names and the contents may still change before January 2027.

Write to sponsors@bsidesdehradun.com now anyway. Asking early is what puts you at the top of the list when the prospectus is ready.

What does sponsorship not buy?

Two things, and they are the reason the rest of it is worth anything. It does not buy a speaking slot at any tier: the programme comes out of the call for papers and is read by a review board of five volunteers who are not the organising team. Anyone from a sponsoring organisation is welcome to submit and is read exactly like everyone else, with the sponsorship left out of it.

It does not buy the attendee list either. We do not sell, share or hand over attendee data. If you want to talk to the people in the room we will put you in the room, which is a much better version of the same thing.

Who is actually in the room?

400+ students and practitioners are planned for 0x03 across two days. 180+ came to 0x01 in 2024 and 250+ to 0x02 in 2026, and those two are what happened rather than what we hope for.

The mix is the reason to be here. Students from the engineering colleges in and around Dehradun, many at their first security conference and most of them about to start hiring conversations, sitting beside working practitioners who run detection, respond to incidents and ship application security.

Can a student chapter or a local community group be listed?

Yes, at no cost. The Community tier is free and in kind, for local groups, student chapters and nonprofits, and it is named on the website and in the programme alongside everyone else. It is a BSides norm and we intend to keep it. This tier exists to be used, so ask.

When are 0x03 sponsors announced?

From January 2027, named on the site as they confirm, in order. Nobody has confirmed yet, so the first organisation to back the third edition gets named first and stays first for the rest of the run-up.

Is there a deadline?

None published. Practically, anything after mid-March 2027 is too late for printed material, so earlier is better for reasons that are logistical rather than commercial.

Can we fund one specific thing instead of taking a tier?

Yes, and earmarked support is genuinely easier for us to use well than a tier. Cover the CTF infrastructure, sponsor a village, feed four hundred people, or support travel for a speaker who could not otherwise come. Say that in the email rather than working out which level it maps to.

Back the third edition

Two hundred and fifty last time. Four hundred planned. Both numbers depend on someone saying yes first.

Write one email. You will get the prospectus, a straight answer, and no follow-up you did not ask for.
